Juneathon day 25: lunchtime run round Rickmansworth Aquadrome
fitness ·This lunchtime, I had an overwhelming urge to go for a run. Rather cunningly, I had some running kit I'd left in the office for just this sort of situation, so I changed and headed off for a run down the canal and round Rickmansworth Aquadrome. I always enjoy this route; there are usually plenty of child- and dog-walkers to be seen, also enjoying the space. (The vast numbers of midges weren't quite so welcome, though, sticking as they did to my sweaty head...) I didn't break any records; given how sore my legs were after yesterday's onslaught, this wasn't a surprise. It was hotter than expected, but that's not something I'm going to complain about!
I had hoped to get out for a swim this evening, but with our Cockapoo puppy Sam still keeping us very busy, that didn't really materialise. We gather that all his "accidents" are likely to be to do with residual odours, which explains why it keeps happening in a few particular places. So I've just wiped the floor down with diluted Persil bio, which is supposed to remove the smell. Tomorrow morning, before I get Sam up, I'll clean the floor again with clean water, just to remove any residue. Unfortunately, I'm not really sure either of these count towards Juneathon, so I'm not really sure why I'm telling you this!
Anyway, today's Juneathon run ended up being2.71 miles in 24:56. Better than nothing!
