Janathon day 5: finally - some running!

The river in Rickmansworth

It's been a busy day, and hasn't finished yet, so I'll keep this brief (ish). Today has been a two-pronged effort, starting off with a quick and sneaky lunchtime run round Rickmansworth. That was nice! It was cold but not excessively so, and muddy but not unpleasantly much: I went up next to the river for a while, then looped round the Royal Masonic school and back. Only 3.1 miles including a 10-ish minute injury-busting warm-up walk, done in 34:28 total and ending up at about a 9-minute mile, but significant as it's my first run of the year. Woo hoo!

Then, this evening, I made it to my first session of the year at Wild Training. After a couple of weeks of disruption, the "challenge week" of kettle bells was very hard, and I'm sure 16Kg used to be lighter! The 35-minute session comprised:

1) The "25" set: clean and presses (25L, 25R); parallelette rows (25L, 25R); 25 press-ups
2) The "20" set: overhead snatch and opposite-leg lunge  (20L, 20R); parallelette rows (20L, 20R); 20 press-ups
3) The "15" set: Turkish get-ups (15L, 15R); parallelette rows (15L, 15R); 15 press-ups

... then, wash, rinse and repeat until the time is up! I managed a total of 445 reps in the 35 minutes, which was less than last time, but hey, who's counting?

Shoes

FitBit!
That's it for today, Janathon-wise. I'll leave you with the obligatory photo of my shoes, taken back in the office after the slightly muddy run... Ah yes, that and my FitBit stats, just in case anyone likes such things!
