Janathon '16 day 8: pairs PT
fitness ·Today has been extremely busy. Which is a good thing; I tend to work at my best when there's lots going on and the pressure is mounting. While it didn't leave time for any training at lunchtime, luckily it is Friday - pairs PT day! So in fact my main activities were out of the way by 8:30 this morning. And I even managed to get some photos for once!
It was really frosty and cold as we drove over to Deep Mill Farm Equestrian Centre for our workout. The view out of the window across the fields below Shardeloes was particularly fine as Holger drove; in light barely more than moonlight, and complete stillness, the frost glistened on the grass and pipes of smoke rose straight into the air from houses lighting fires to banish the cold.
The gym wasn't much warmer! Until we put on the heater, that is - not that we needed it once we got going... We started with the "tyre challenge", which was:
- 20 tyre flips
- 40 sledgehammer slams (20 each side)
- 20 tyre deadlifts
- 20 press-ups on the tyre
- ... all repeated 3 times
I haven't done this one for a while, so was pretty happy with a time of 11:12 for the whole lot. We took turns on this one, with the other one of us doing boxing with Darrell. Then we pushed on to a load of other hideous exercises involving resistance straps, amongst other things. Good fun!
I took a photo after our session - it was a bit lighter but still frosty. Then back home, get changed and in to work.
Friday evenings can be busy, and this one was no exception. So I managed to clock up over 10,000 steps too. A good day!
Some Janathon pics to enjoy...
