Janathon '20 day 4: Ricky parkrun, and trip to Cliveden
fitness ·Parkrun has become something of a regular outing. What they say on their blog is quite right: it's a really inclusive kind of event, with all sorts of people doing it in their own way. (No Frosty the snowmen today, though - that I noticed, at least.) As I presume is usually the case at the start of the year, the numbers were still very high - 686, in fact, which was even more than New Years Day. As a result it was a bit of a bun-fight for the first mile or so. After that, though, it thinned out a bit.
So that was fun! 5k in about 25:18 ish. Not quite my all-time PB but not that far off either. My friend pipped me by more than a minute, though, so I have a real challenge on my hands to work towards. Let's hope the Janathon running helps!
Then, after some dull chores round the house, it was back off to Cliveden for a nice stroll round the gardens, with Mrs H and our girls (the boy still recovering from a late night). The weather was surprisingly nice, with a lovely golden glow as the sun was getting lower. The house was looking pretty fine in it.
So that's my day: 5k of running, and a total of about 16,000 steps. Happy with that!
