London
Diary, Work ·I worked in the office in London today. Honestly I quite enjoy the travel there and back on the train. I went in with Ellie for a change, which was entertaining (and we managed Wordle in two attempts). The office was fairly quiet, but the people who did come in were talking about our work Christmas social tomorrow - we are spending the day volunteering for a local charity who create communal gardens.
One of the best things about the commute each direction is that there’s some good time to watch some TV. I very rarely watch anything at home, and avoid most social media, so this is a rare treat for me. Also, the way my work computers are set up means it’s nearly impossible to do “proper” work on the train. So I can occasionally do tangential things like training courses or self study, but there’s still realistically going to be some time left to watch something I’ve downloaded onto my tablet.
Incidentally, I bought an Amazon Fire HD (I think it’s called) for this express purpose. Honestly, it’s been fine - the screen is decent, as is battery life, and it was cheap enough that it isn’t a catastrophe if something awful happens to it.
So, now I need to plan what I’m going to take in to work, as it is going to be freezing cold, and pretty mucky I’m guessing, but I’ll also need clothes for an evening gathering with pizza and beer.
PS I’ve just noticed I started this blog on 6th November, so that’s a full month! Woo hoo!
