Recovery (janathon day 8)
Journal, Janathon, Yoga ·According to my watch, I had more than nine hours of sleep last night. I’m not sure whether it’s just me, but often when I get some decent rest after a few days of insufficient, I find myself feeling kind of subdued. Today falls into that category.
Having said that, it hasn’t been a bad day overall, despite the weather’s best efforts to ensure otherwise. In the morning we managed to get out for a walk around Amersham, clocking up something like 4.5km in the process. For the last couple of kms the skies completely opened and we got drenched, but did manage to get a good cup of coffee and bite to eat in A Little Street Kitchen, which is well worth a visit.
Then, after some jobs, we had another outing to warm up again at the spa. We did perhaps 20 minutes in the spa and another 10-15 in the steam room, punctuated by the occasional cold shower. I swear the water is getting colder there, but apparently it’s good for you so no complaints from me.
This evening Ellie was teaching a yoga / restorative / meditation class, so the next few hours were spent getting the props we needed, teaching / attending the class (yoga husband perk!) and returning it all afterwards. It was good.
With that behind me, and now feeling comparatively calm, I think you would agree it is now just about time for bed.
