Qigong sound immersion
Journal ·For various unfortunate reasons, I ended up working quite late last night. The not-too-long version is that we had a Tesco food delivery booked for 10-11pm, and I was doing some work while waiting for the delivery. At around midnight I thought I should check what was going on, and then found an email from a few hours earlier saying they were very sorry but the delivery was cancelled. Grrr. At that point, the work was on a bit of a roll so I pushed on, in true no-sense-of-self-preservation style!
Anyway, today I was a bit tired as a result, and circuits in the morning honestly didn’t help a lot either (although it was nice to catch up with people). So as it turned out it was rather splendid that Ellie was teaching a qigong and sound immersion class with her fellow practitioner Shinrin of Sound on the sound immersion side.
It was great! The qigong was calming and accessible, and the sound immersion was wonderful (from what I can remember - I think I was floating in semi-consciousness for most of it…)
If you haven’t tried anything along these lines then I would recommend giving it a shot. It’s extremely accessible whether you enjoy crazy fitness stuff like me or do your best to avoid it - much more so than yoga, I would say. All told, an unexpectedly relaxing end to the day.
