Swimming
journal ·It’s going to take some time to get back into the headspace of writing daily, I can sense. This is mainly because my head is jumping around between different subjects, and needs a bit of reining in. In no particular order, here are some of the things in my head:
- Work is busy, and continues to be enjoyable. But I still have so much to learn! JavaScript, python, css
- We are haemorrhaging money at the moment, with two kids at university in the coming academic year
- Holiday plans for the summer haven’t yet been made
- Ellie’s yoga business needs some time spent on it, as she’s got plans and events for this year coming up
- With my Achilles improving, I can begin to see a time when I will be properly running regularly
- I’ve been shedding some weight and changing up my diet somewhat
- I’m also working to build my fitness generally
This breadth of activity is both cause and effect of a lack of sleep. Last night was a case in point - I should have been able to be in bed at a really good time, and yet I was looking into something from the list and again managed to get caught up and leave it too late. So, anybody - if you see me up after about 9:30 this evening, please kick me!
Finally, and notably absent from this list, is the subject of this blog post - swimming! Here’s the thing. I’m currently parked in the car park of Merchant Taylors school, in whose lake I periodically swim. This is an activity that happens when two things coincide - my daughter running here with her club, and my orchestra being on break. This will be happening soon - my next concert with the Misbourne Symphony Orchestra is 24th June, after which I’ll be clear until September. At that point, I can see some Thursday evening swims happening. Somewhat, but not entirely, unlike the stock photo above.
